On 14th April 2018 the Clan Chattan Association marched with many other Clans and societies to the Cairn on the Culloden Battlefield for the remembrance service. The Service is organised by the Inverness Gaelic Society.
Several members and friends gathered at the visitor centre. Once the piper started playing we followed on with Banners flying. It was a wonderful sight and the sun shone! The ceremony went ahead in it’s usual format and members of societies were invited to lay their wreaths or tokens in remembrance of the fallen.
Once the ceremony was over the crowd slowly dispersed and the Clan Chattan Association went on to have lunch in the lovely wee cafe adjoining the Botanical Gardens in Inverness. At 2pm we were invited to go to the Inverness Archive Centre to view various items pertaining to the Jacobites and in particular Clan Chattan, including the Band of Union 2009.
In all it was a splendid day!
